  • How do I make a reservation?

    You can book online, visit our offices or book over the phone.


    You need to have your passport and credit card details with you.


    If you book advance, we can do installments.

  • What time should I arrive at the airport?

    For international flights, it is recommended to arrive at the airport 2(two) hours before your scheduled

    departure time of your flight. For domestic flights, this duration is 1(one) hour.

  • What’s the latest time to have the boarding pass?

    For domestic flights: 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight.


    For international flights: 60 minutes before the scheduled departure time of your flight.

  • What is the purpose of checking the passengers’ passports and visas?

    According to aviation rules; passengers are responsible to get information and valid documents of the

    country where they travel to. Passport-Visa checks are controlled at the time of check-in and during

    boarding. The aims of these checks are to prevent passengers travelling with invalid/faulty visas or

    passport to prevent you from paying any penalties.

  • Do you have control “ID check” for domestic flights?

    Yes. Passengers have to carry their identification card, driving license or passport with them.

  • What is Online Check-In?

    Online check-in is a service that allows you to check-in online so your queue time is cut short. 


    The check-in line is often shorter than the regular line, and passengers are usually processed faster.

  • What is the earliest and latest time for check-in online?

    Passengers may check-in and select their seats from 24 hours up to 90 minutes prior to the departure time through Turkish Airlines Online Check-In pages.

  • What is the Hand Baggage – Enforcement of Restrictions on Liquids?

    The new security regulations do not forbid the carrying of liquids, aerosols and gels in hand baggage; but they do restrict the amount you can carry *max. 100ml)


    Goods purchased in Duty-Free and carried unopened in their sealed bags are exempt from the restrictions.


    The restrictions on liquids do not apply to checked-in baggage. All kinds of liquids may be carried in the baggage you hand over when you are given your boarding card, as long as they comply with the airline's rules and with Customs regulations.

  • What can I carry in my hand baggage and how should I carry it?

    You can carry liquids, gels or aerosols in your hand baggage in containers with a maximum capacity of 100 millilitres as long as each container is kept in a sealed bag with the capacity of 1 litre.


    Passengers may carry only one bag each.

    Sealable freezer bags may be used for this purpose.


    At the last security control point, you must remove the sealed bag containing liquids from your hand baggage and place it in the x-ray machine separately.

  • What is Covered by the Restrictions?

    •All liquids including water, syrups and drinks


    •Creams, lotions, oils (including cosmetic oils), perfumes, all kinds of makeup including mascara (not including solid lipsticks)


    •Shaving foams, deodorants


    •All paste-like substances, including toothpaste


    •All foods that are not completely solid, such as jams, honey, fruit molasses (pekmez) and sauces


    •Contact lens fluids


    •Shampoos


    •Other substances similar to the above.

  • What is Exempt?

    Medicines (if accompanied by their original packaging and a medical report/certificate declaring that the

    passenger in question requires them or a written prescription bearing the passenger’s name)


    Baby foods (For a baby who is on board, and only the amount thought necessary for the duration of the flight)


    At the control point security staff may ask you to provide documentation for exceptional cases or taste the medicine/baby food/liquid.

  • Products Bought at Duty-Free Shops/on Flights?

    A member of staff may put in a special sealed bag any products that you have acquired from a duty-free shop or during a flight plus the receipts. Permission to board the flight will be given after this bag and the associated receipts have been checked at the security point.


    If your journey involves connecting flights, it is very important that you do not open any special duty-free shopping bags acquired in the shops or on flights until you reach your final destination airport.

    Otherwise the contents of the bag may be confiscated at a transfer airport.


    If you have any doubts on this matter, please enquire at the airline or travel agent before your journey.

    You are obliged to cooperate with the security staff and airline personnel at the airport.

  • What is the hold luggage and Hand luggage allowance?

    It depends on the airways you are flying with. You can find some of them below. You can add luggage if you wish so you can pay either in our offices or at the airport.

  • Who can use Emergency Exit Seat?

    Passengers who sit in the` Exit Rows` are expected to help the cabin crew for opening the emergency exits and unloading other passengers in case of any unexpected emergency cases. That is

    why seats in front of the exit rows can not be choosen on online check-in process. Such a related seats requests may be demanded on merely check-in counters at airport.

  • What are the guidelines for travelling while pregnant?

    •Pregnant women can fly up to their 28th weeks of pregnancies without a doctors report.


    •Pregnant women expecting one baby can fly with doctor report states fit to fly by air carriage between 28 - 35 weeks. After that, they are no longer fit to fly, even with medical clearance.


    •Pregnant women expecting twins or more can fly with doctor report states fit to fly by air carriage between 28 - 31 weeks. After that, they are no longer fit to fly, even with medical clearance.


    •Medical clearance must be dated 7 days prior to the flight.


    •Doctor’s name and surname, diploma number, signature must be shown clearly on the medical clearance.


    •The report should be issued in English.

  • Can blind and deaf passengers travel without a companion?

    Yes. Passengers are permitted to travel either alone or accompanied by a service dog. For these dogs, there is no need to make reservation.

  • Can Hearing Impaired Passengers Travel Unattended?

    Yes, they may travel unattended.

  • Can Passengers with Both Hearing and Visual Impairments Travel Unattended?

    No, they must be accompanied by an attendant.

  • What special services are offered?

    There is a special service given to passengers such as the elderly, those who have difficulty speaking a foreign language, have a phobia, blind/deaf, young passengers etc. This service is provided just on the ground.

  • Who can book a wheelchair?

    If the passenger needs wheelchair, we can book for them 48 hours before the flight date.

  • Do we need a visa for entry to Turkey?

    In accordance with the new Law on Foreigners, the practice of obtaining visas upon arrival to points of entry to Turkey will begin to come to an end as of 11 April 2014. However, border authorities will maintain existing procedures for a certain transitional period, to include the 2014 tourism season.


    Visas for touristic or business purposes can be obtained via the new Electronic Visa Application System (www.evisa.gov.tr).


    Fees for e-Visas obtained via the e-Visa website (www.evisa.gov.tr) will be lower than the fees for visas obtained upon arrival to Turkish airports. Information regarding visa fees can be found on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (www.mfa.gov.tr).

  • Do we need a visa for entry to North Cyprus?

    If you hold a British passport, you will be given a visa during the entry of the Country.


    If you hold a Turkish passport you do not need to get a visa.


    Nigerian and Armenian Passport holders are required to apply for a visa at the TRNC London Consulate at least two weeks before they are due to travel.
